Taiwan is the 4th largest exporting country of woodworking machinery. In order to challenge the goal to be among the top 3 in 2016, the Industrial Development Bureau will help to establish the W-Team in charge of woodworking machinery and hold the launching ceremony on April 6 in Taichung. Via the W-Team, the supply chain in woodworking machinery will be stronger, and it makes Taiwan a more important supplier of woodworking machinery in the world.

In Taiwan, there are more than 300 companies in the woodworking machinery industry with output of NTD 20 billion in 2010. In recent years, the main exporters of woodworking machinery, such as Germany and Italy, develop full-line automation designed for efficiency, environment protection, and aesthetics. Taiwan’s woodworking machinery makers are good at developing stand-alone machines with high quality and reasonable prices. To follow the global trend and differentiate from competitors, the W-Team was created as a result..
By promoting the MIT(Made in Taiwan) smile logo certification, virtual production line, intelligent automation, ICT platform, and aesthetics design, the W-Team will strengthen the entire industry’s competitiveness in image, marketing, technology, service, and design. The first demonstration team will develop a full-line automation line for solid wood flooring with aesthetics and industrial design to enter the higher level markets. In the future, the W-Team will continue to promote other wood products and help the industry strengthen the ability to supply for the full-line automation. It will surely improve the added value and international competitiveness of the woodworking machinery industry in Taiwan.
